Wedge Anchor for Concrete
Wedge anchors that are zinc plated are the most common type of wedge anchor. Zinc plated wedge anchors should be used indoors where they will not be directly subjected to water or other substances. The zinc plated wedge anchor comes in nine different diameters- 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8", 3/4", 7/8", 1" and 1-1/4". The length of wedge anchor required for an application is determined by:
- Thickness of material to be fastened
- Minimum embedment for the specific diameter of wedge anchor being used
The size of the hole to be drilled is the same diameter as the wedge anchor being used in the project. Wedge anchors also come packaged with the appropriate number of nuts and washers. The wedge anchor itself, as well as the nuts and washers, are zinc plated.
Concrete wedge anchors are also available in stainless steel and hot-dipped galvanized to meet a wide range of specifications and requirements. Each type of concrete wedge anchor has unique characteristics that make them the appropriate choice in a variety of different projects and applications.
